Fire cider

My fire cider recipe! I swear wholeheartedly by this recipe and its so so wonderful to have on the onset of a cold, you can also have during a cold and its so wondeful.  1 teaspoon neat (or in a cup of hot water). If you are prone to any inflammatory disorders (aka pitta imbalances) I would avoid and follow the alternative recipe instead.

Ingredients for fire cider:

1 lime or lemon sliced

1 Orange sliced

7 oz Horseradish

7oz Fresh Ginger

2 oz Fresh Turmeric

8 Garlic Cloves sliced thinly

5 Star Anise

2 Cinnamon Sticks

1 Licorce Stick

3 Sprigs Fresh Rosemary

2 Sprigs Fresh Thyme

10 Peppercorns

3 Cups of Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

1 Mason jar

Method:

Simply add all the above ingredients to a mason jar and cover with the apple cider vinegar.#

Ginger, Lime and Honey recipe

Ingredients:

100g fresh ginger

6 limes

6 teaspoons honey

3 teaspoons brown sugar

200mls water

Method:

  • Cut, peel and blend ginger in blender with half a cup of water.

  • Squeeze out the ginger juice form the pulp.

  • Mix ginger juice with the juice of 6 limes, 6 teaspoons of honey and 3 teaspoons of brown sugar and up to 100 mls of water.

Dosage:

Mix 2-3 tablespoons of the mixture with hot water and take as a small drink. Take after meals up to 2-3 times a day when you are feeling unwell with respiratory issues such as cough, cold, sinusitis etc.
